“Saluté!” is their first evening length performance. The first act includes a sophisticated mixture of choreography by Artistic Director Tara Zaffuto Mullins, company member Kendall Baltimore Neely and the east coast premiere of Utazó (The Traveler), a dance video by San Diego choreographer Keturah Stickann. ZMDC is honored to have Ms. Stickann’s critically acclaimed work as part of this performance.
The second act of Saluté! will feature four dance pieces that celebrate the Italian American culture including Mangia!, a festive dance theatre piece that celebrates the joys of eating and Against the Railing, a trio that explores the struggles of female Italian immigrants traveling to America, arriving at Ellis Island and moving into tenements.
